Features include 1-button operation, centimeter-level performance and an internal battery rated at 100 hours of operation on standard D-cells. It can be used as a 2-receiver system or expanded to include three or more receivers and can also be teamed with traditional survey instruments. The Locus Processor software features many quality analysis tools that help ensure accurate and reliable results, including Mission Planning, GPS data processing, least-squares adjustment, report creation tools, data export to standard formats, as well as specially-designed "blunder tools" that automatically point out problem data to the user. The optional Locus hand-held data collector is a Hewlett Packard HP48GX platform that communicates with the Locus receiver using an innovative infrared communications link.
